Project Description
The project comprises the design and construction supervision of the high voltage transmission line linking Kanye to Lobatse. The scope of work comprises the design and construction supervision of the transmission line and upgrading of the Lobatse Substation. The project was being executed in association with TSI International – a subsidiary of ESKOM.
- 50km of 132kV line
- 2x 132kV feeder Bays one at Lobatse and the other at Kanye
Major Issues & Challenges 
The scope of services covered the following:
- Feasibility Studies including Line Route Survey and Selection, Environmental Impact Assessment, Archaeological Impact Assessment, and Power System Analysis
- Engineering design covering the specification of towers, conductors, tower foundations, line profiling and sag analysis.
- tender preparation and evaluation
- Contract management
- Construction Monitoring for civil works, electrical installations up to commissioning.
- Verification and issuing of payment certificates
- General Client liaison.
